Cooling Towers / Open Condenser Systems

An effective cooling tower water treatment program must take into account many factors from the incoming make-up water quality to operational parameters.

System water chemistry should be balanced based on saturation and stability indices in conjunction with effective micro-biological control and proper blowdown strategies to control deposition and corrosion.
While reducing deposition is important with regard to cooling towers, it is absolutely critical to avoid scale and fouling in the water cooled condenser.  Scale and fouling in the condenser can significantly reduce heat transfer impacting energy cost, chiller performance and overall reliability.

Products:
Water Consultants of Texas utilizes a wide range of high performance water treatment products tailored to the water supply and specific needs of the clients’ equipment.  All products conform to EPA, state and local regulations for discharge and most are based on “green chemistry” technologies to minimize impact on the environment.

Services:
Water Consultants of Texas works directly for the client designing treatment programs to maintain design specification heat transfer performance while maximizing cycles of concentrations for economical operation.  This is accomplished not only through chemical products, but also Internet based control equipment allowing 24/7 monitoring, logging and alarms for out of range conditions.   We also make recommendations to minimize water consumption through capital improvements when feasible to reduce not only water costs but also chemical treatment cost as well.

In order to obtain occupancy permits,
contractors must prove that a building’s
water plumbing is prepared to conduct
potable water. The procedure to ensure
the system is ready for testing is
commonly referred to as a chlorination, a
